Qualification Purpose
The Focus Awards Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy (RQF) is aimed at those learners who have completed the Level 2 qualification, it builds on the existing knowledge and understanding, therefore enabling the learners to expand their scope of technical skills for employment as a beauty therapist. Learners will learn how to plan prepare and deliver Level 3 beauty treatments safely and correctly in accordance with health and safety regulations and legislation.
Qualification Structure/Rules of Combination
Learners must achieve the following 5 mandatory units totalling 17 credits. A minimum of 22 credits must be achieved from the remaining optional units to create a total credit value for this qualification of 39 credits.

Learner Entry Requirements
➢ Learners should be competent in literacy and numeracy to help with elements of communication. This is at the discretion of the centre as they may decide to use diagnostic testing methods to ascertain how they can support learners. Learners should also have completed the level 3 beauty therapy qualification.
Age Ranges
Learners should be 16 (minimum) to undertake this qualification.
Geographical Coverage
This qualification is available in England and Northern Ireland.

Assessment Methods
The Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy is internally assessed. Each learner is required to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit.
The main pieces of evidence for the portfolio could include;

➢ Witness statements
➢ Evidence of prior learning or attainment
➢ Written questions
➢ Oral questions
➢ Assignments
➢ Case studies
All evidence must be crossed referenced to unit outcomes, simulation is not allowed in all units.
