Who is this qualification for?
The VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Certificate in Laser Tattoo Removal is an advanced therapy qualification aimed at level 4 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over, who wish to add this therapy to their repertoire of treatment offerings.
Learners are required to hold a level 4 laser and IPL qualification to progress onto level 5 tattoo removal. Learners who hold a level 3 beauty therapy qualification or equivalent will be able to access the level 4 laser and IPL qualifications as a natural progression route.
What does this qualification cover?
This qualification is informed by employers and national occupational standards for beauty therapy and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a fully commercial laser tattoo removal practitioner. Learners must achieve all mandatory units which include:
Principles and practice of non-medical aesthetic therapies
Advanced consultation for non-medical aesthetic therapies
Advanced skin care for non-medical aesthetic therapies
Remove or fade tattoos using Q Switched Laser systems
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety pertaining to level 5 non-medical aesthetic therapies. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with and analyse clients whilst providing laser tattoo removal treatments. In parallel, learners will develop their communication and customer service skills and widen their knowledge of the principles and practices of non-medical aesthetic therapies, all of which are valued highly by employers.

This qualification is one of a new suite of level 5 advanced non-medical aesthetic therapies developed as a progression route for level 4 practitioners wishing to add to their repertoire in specific treatment modalities.
What could this qualification lead to?
The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment in the advanced non-medical aesthetic industry providing laser tattoo removal techniques. Additionally, learners may choose to further develop their knowledge and skills by completing supplementary specialist qualifications at level 5 in the following:

Assessment To be awarded this qualification, learners must successfully achieve the following assessments:
• Externally set and externally marked graded practical examination (50% of qualification grade)
• Externally set and externally marked theory examination (50% of qualification grade)
• Externally set and internally marked assignment/project (no contribution to overall grade)
• Externally set and internally marked clinical case studies (no contribution to overall grade)
Overall qualification grading
The overall qualification is graded: Fail/Pass/Merit/Distinction
Entry requirements Learners are required to hold a level 4 laser and IPL qualification.
Learners who hold a level 3 beauty therapy qualification or equivalent will be able to access the level 4 laser and IPL qualifications as a natural progression route. Learners who wish to undertake this qualification must also achieve the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Beauty Therapy and Nail Services qualification or a regulated equivalent.BT5C2 Qualification
. Qualification structure
To be awarded the VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Certificate in Laser Tattoo Removal learners must achieve:
• all mandatory units
• all assignments/projects
• all clinical case studies
• a pass or (higher) grade in the external theory examination*
• a pass or (higher) grade in the external practical examination*
*Please note all clinical case studies and assignments must be completed and marked as passes before the learner can be entered for examination.
The minimum TQT required to achieve this qualification is 245.

Qualification:
Course fee: £ 2500
Route one = 4 months – ONLY RPL
Route two = 6 months
registration /examination /assessment fee all are included in fee.
Any extra days can be arranged for £150 per day, in case of any knowledge gaps. Qualification fee is excluded .

A uniform and product kit will be required for this course, please ask for more details.Kit includes small bottle of gel, cotton wool, spatulas, cleanser, sunblock, gloves, razers .Tunic x1 £30 (student’s responsibility)

Students must wear correct uniform. Under no circumstance is jewelry to be worn. No false nails or Nail varnish is allowed.
Any classes missed will not be rearranged and will only be provided to the student at an additional cost. All students must hand in their assignment on the due date, if handed in late then they go to the bottom of the making list where certificates claims will be delayed up to 2 weeks per assignment handed in late. All portfolios must be completed on time . You have 4 /8 weeks from course completion to hand in your finished work, if you fail to do submit your portfolio you will not be able to complete your course.
Please note as you are doing a VTCT course as part of this you can be selected by them randomly to come to the
Birmingham/London centres to perform a treatment, this can be on any day. If you are selected, we will inform you in advance. It is compulsory you attend.
